The Neuromorphics Lab specializes in large-scale models that are realizable on power-constrained hardware operating in real time. Developing these models requires software tools to simplify both the simulation of individual models and the management of model families. Cog Ex Machina (Cog) and KiNNeSS are simulators that allow designers to operate on large-scale models in a high-level language, while automatically managing the underlying low-level details. The Iterative Evolution of Models (ItEM) is a tool built on top of Cog to automate parameter tuning and manage the large volumes of simulation data generated by complex model development. Finally, the lab is implementing sophisticated virtual environments to train and test neural models.
